The Restless Mind

When the soul becomes captivated by endless reasoning, speculation, and constant intellectual activity, it quietly drifts from the stillness of God — the place where true peace, harmony, and the presence of the Living God dwell.
This path, though subtle, is a departure from the mind of Christ. It leans not on the Tree of Life, but on the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, where the mind, disconnected from the Spirit, becomes puffed up — and blind.
📖 “See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spiritual forces of the world, and not according to Christ.”— Colossians 2:8
Christ and the apostles clearly warned us about the days we live in now — full of false prophets, endless distractions, increasing lawlessness, and love growing cold.
So the call is clear: stay watchful and sober, lest destruction come suddenly like a thief in the night.Let us not be among the foolish virgins — those who slept without oil in their lamps, without the Spirit of Christ.
📖 “Although they knew God, they neither glorified Him as God nor gave thanks to Him,but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.Claiming to be wise, they became fools.”— Romans 1:21–22
When God is at work, the soul recognizes it through peace, stillness, and trust. The presence of God brings deep comfort, quiet confidence in His providence, and a clarity that surpasses the noise of this world.
But the restless mind is like a drug — always craving stimulation, new thoughts, more information, more drama, more noise.
As the old proverb goes:“A troubled mind gives no rest to the feet.”— because often behind all this restlessness are spiritual forces that feed on your attention.
Where your attention goes, your energy follows. And where your energy is — there your heart will be also. That becomes your treasure.
📖 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven…For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”— Matthew 6:19–21
